Welcome to Walnut Music. The studio is located in the city of Walnut, California, where Jason Phu offers private piano and theory lessons from novice to advance levels.

At Walnut Music, the teaching philosophy is to help students developing and refining the musical sensation through professional pedagogy in a friendly, positive and encouraging learning atmosphere.

Walnut Music provides performance and recording opportunities to all students. Exams and competitions are recommended based on students' levels and progression.

Annual recitals are mandatory to all students. Each student is expected to prepare one or two selections of piano pieces for the performance.

Jason has been teaching for more than 15 years and giving many performances through out his career. With his dedication and passion in piano pedagogy, Jason has inspired many students to reach their best in piano studies and musical education.

Through performance experience and profound knowledge in music, Jason has helped many students achieving highest ranking in exams and top awards in competitions.

Today, there are many piano method courses available to fit individuals' preferences, but there is no any stand-alone course can completely cover all aspects to help students mastering the techniques of piano playing.

At Walnut Music, the teaching method is the combination of materials and courses that provide thorough trainings and remedies to encountered issues in piano playing. With the customized curriculum, students can be assured that they will receive well-rounded piano education program.
